A power outage

[During a power outage, Brianna kept telling me about things that didn't work.]

Brianna: There's no light in my room.
Jack: Yep, the whole house is without power.
Brianna: The TV doesn't work either.
Jack: Yep, the lights don't work, the TV doesn't work, the microwave doesn't work...
Brianna: Maybe we can get a new house!

With my toys!

Brianna, like every other child I know, fills the bathtub with toys whenever she takes a bath. So the following exchange shouldn't have come as a surprise.

Jack (to Laura): We can give Brianna swimming lessons this year.
Brianna: With my toys!
Laura: No, Honey, not your toys; just you and some other kids in the pool.
